Free tier and Pro
Pro switches for you. The free tier tells you, and stays free for as long as you like.
The 30-day trial
Every account gets 30 days of Pro, free. The trial starts the first time a Mac on your account signs in, needs no card, and never turns into a paid plan by itself. It is once per person: signing in with a different method (Google, GitHub, Apple or email) does not start a new one.
During the trial the console counts every switch and, in Cursor, what it saved you. From seven days before the end, a note in VS Code and Cursor reminds you. optiflume account shows the days left.

The free tier
When the trial or a subscription ends, OptiFlume moves to the free tier on its own; there is nothing to reinstall. On the free tier it never stops a prompt and never switches the model. When a better-suited model exists, your prompt goes ahead on your model and OptiFlume names the better fit, and you switch yourself if you like:
- in Claude Code and Codex, in the usual line under your prompt, marked “recommended”;
- in Cursor, in a small notification with a Try Pro button. These tips are rate-limited so they inform without nagging: at most one every 15 minutes, and six a day.
The session watchdog, the Guardian, the ~ and ! overrides and local analytics keep working, and your settings and history stay on your Mac. Pro and the trial switch for you, in every tool.
Pro
$6.99 a month, or $69 a year. One subscription covers every Mac you sign in on, and every tool on it: Cursor, Claude Code and Codex. Subscribing, turning Pro on straight away, cancelling and refunds are in Account, Macs and billing; the full comparison is on Pricing.
Signed out or offline
- Signed out (or never signed in): OptiFlume does nothing in any tool. Prompts pass straight through with no routing, no working memory and no watchdog, the Guardian is off, and nothing is logged about your prompts. Sign in with
optiflume login; the free tier keeps the Guardian on. - Offline: routing runs entirely on your Mac and needs no connection. A Pro or trial license lets a Mac work offline for about 30 days, plus a 14-day grace period, before it needs to check in.
